Receh.in - PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) has reported on its heavy equipment sales performance through November 2022. UNTR's Komatsu heavy equipment sales reached 5,457 units in the first 11 months of 2022. This marks an 85% increase compared to the same period last year, when sales were at 2,950 units. Komatsu's market share as of November 2022 is 28%.
The mining sector has been the main driving force behind heavy equipment sales. According to the monthly report, Komatsu's sales are still dominated by the mining sector, accounting for 61%, followed by sales to the construction sector at 19%, the forestry sector at 11%, and the agribusiness sector at 9%.
In addition to heavy equipment, several of UNTR's businesses have also grown. For example, the mining contractor business saw a 10.25% increase in overburden (OB) removal volume in the first 11 months of 2022, reaching 862.1 million bank cubic meters (bcm) from 781.9 million bcm. However, UNTR's coal production realization decreased slightly by 1.83% from 107.3 million tons to 105.2 million tons as of November 2022.
Previously, UNTR's management had set targets for next year. The management projects that Komatsu's heavy equipment sales will reach 5,750 units by the end of this year, an increase from the previous projection of 5,500 units. For next year, the provisional projection is 5,500 units, which depends on the principal's supply capabilities.
