Uni-Charm Indonesia Reports Decrease in 2022 Net Profit, Despite Increase in Revenue and Launch of New Product Line

- PT Uni-Charm Indonesia Tbk (UCID) reported a profit of Rp313.45 billion for the full year of 2022, a decrease of 34.65% from its 2021 achievement of Rp479.73 billion. 

However, the company's revenue increased by 13.16% to Rp10.31 trillion by the end of December 2022, up from Rp9.11 trillion in the previous year. The revenue was generated from the sale of diapers, which amounted to Rp6.06 trillion, and non-diaper products, which amounted to Rp1.52 trillion.

Despite the increase in revenue, the company also recorded an increase in expenses, including the cost of goods sold, which increased to Rp8.42 trillion from Rp7.25 trillion, and sales expenses, which increased to Rp1.17 trillion. However, the company's general and administrative expenses decreased to Rp237.78 billion.

As of the end of 2022, UCID's total assets had increased by 7.77% to Rp8.38 trillion, up from Rp7.77 trillion in December 2021. The company's liabilities were recorded at Rp3.21 trillion, and its equity was recorded at Rp5.16 trillion.

Last year, the company launched its latest product in the baby care line, MamyPoko. The company introduced a new breakthrough in disposable baby diapers made from organic cotton called MamyPoko Royal Soft. The product uses a topsheet made partly of natural material, 100% organic cotton.

Through the launch of this new product, the company also reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly target number 12, "Responsible Consumption and Production." UCID's slogan, "Ethical Living for SDGs," also reflects the company's commitment to environmental conservation, marine resources, and biodiversity preservation. The company aims to continue to contribute to efforts to address environmental and social conservation issues and contribute to the realization of SDGs.

Meanwhile, in early 2023, the company also launched its latest product, Deli-Joy cat snacks. The product had already been sold in other countries such as China, Malaysia, and Singapore and is now available in Indonesia in two flavors, Jelly with tuna and chicken flavor, and Creamy with tuna, katsuo, salmon, and chicken flavor.
